Everything you need to write about Ichigo Ichie — facts, photographs, the artist's story, and how to get in touch.

01The project, in brief

A quiet answer to our noisy world.

Ichigo Ichie Live Painting Performance: Circle of Peace is a non-profit contemplative art project by the artist Vit Kodousek. In each performance, a large-scale sumi-ink circle is created live, in real time, before a quiet audience — roughly twenty-five minutes that turn a room into a temporary sanctuary.

Rooted in the Japanese idea of ichigo ichie — "one time, one meeting" — the work carries a single message: peace in the world starts with peaceful individuals. It began as a one-off tribute at EXPO 2025 Osaka and has since travelled across Japan, the United States and the UAE.
